Technology executive with over 30 years of experience leading digital transformation, engineering organizations, and large-scale technology platforms in the retail, telecommunications, and digital business sectors.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Telecommunications Engineering from the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), where he also completed a master’s degree in Systems and Computer Engineering, combining a solid technical background with a long-standing executive career at the intersection of technology and business.
As a co-founder of one of Portugal’s first commercial ISPs and a key figure in the launch of Clix—the country’s first free internet access portal—he has built a career that spans the major waves of technological transformation over the past three decades: from the internet to the cloud, from e-commerce to omnichannel, and from automation to artificial intelligence.
As CTO/CIO of Worten Portugal, he led a team of over 500 people and managed a budget of ~€60M, driving the omnichannel transformation of the country’s largest retail platform, the modernization of legacy systems to cloud architectures and microservices, and initiatives to transform organizational and operational models.
